nara or Jira Service Management

A complete ITSM from Germany where the AI resolves the requests.

nara and Jira Service Management both include a ticket system, an asset database and self-service. With nara, the AI takes requests in Teams and by phone and resolves them, right down to the laptop. You set it up in your own words, without consultants, and you start alongside Jira.

The difference in brief

Jira Service Management is Atlassian's service management product and a strong choice when development and IT already work in Jira and Confluence. According to Atlassian, its AI agent, Request Resolver, only works on service requests. [1] By default, Rovo also sends data for AI processing to external AI providers outside your site, such as OpenAI. [2] On 6 Oct 2026, Atlassian announced local AI processing in the EU; according to Atlassian, it is rolling out. [13] The Data Center version reaches end of life on 28 Mar 2029. [3]

nara is an AI-native ITSM. The AI takes incidents and service requests, checks the device, fixes the problem and records every step in the ticket. nara runs alongside Jira within one to two weeks and, if you want, replaces it in about six weeks, with your ticket history.

Where nara leads

The AI resolves incidents and service requests.

An employee writes in Teams that Outlook hasn't fetched any mail since this morning. nara checks the connection and sign-in on her laptop, clears the offline cache, restarts Outlook and closes the ticket with its findings. nara Edge makes this possible: it runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, only opens outbound connections and comes with every plan. You decide which steps need approval. Atlassian's Request Resolver carries out resolution plans autonomously or under supervision, but according to the documentation only for service requests. [1]

Employees just pick up the phone.

nara answers calls through Teams and on a normal phone number, recognizes the caller and handles the request during the call, for example by unlocking an account or resetting a password. Anyone who prefers a person presses 0. This especially helps colleagues who don't work at a desk, such as in the warehouse or out in the field. In writing, employees reach nara in Teams chat, in web chat or in the nara app.

AI processing stays in the EU.

If your data protection officer asks where the AI runs, nara's answer is the same in every plan: in the EU. Your data is not used for training. By default, Rovo also sends data to external AI providers outside your site, such as OpenAI, which have agreed with Atlassian not to store it. [2] On 6 Oct 2026, Atlassian announced local AI processing in the EU on models hosted only in the EU; according to Atlassian, it is rolling out. The announcements do not say which plans and products it covers or when it will be available. [13] You can choose Germany as the data residency location for much of your JSM data; that sets where data is stored, not where Rovo sends it for processing. [2][9] Atlassian-hosted models exist only on the Enterprise plan, on request, across multiple global regions. [8]

Data Center ends in 2029. You have a choice.

Atlassian stopped selling Jira Service Management Data Center to new customers on 30 Mar 2026. License expansions end on 30 Mar 2028, and support and bug fixes end on 28 Mar 2029. [3] nara runs in our cloud in Germany, and nara Edge carries out actions in your network without open ports. For large enterprises, nara can run entirely in your own data center, AI included. And you don't have to wait until 2029: nara already works alongside Jira Data Center today.

Set up in your own words, without consultants.

You say how an onboarding or an order should run. nara builds the workflow with forms, approvals and permissions, shows every step and tests it. It only goes live after your approval. You set up categories, SLAs and access rights the same way. Your departments can do this themselves, without programming or consultants, and your team learns it in days. Atlassian also creates flows from text; according to its documentation, the quality and reliability of these flows can vary. [7]

Start alongside Jira, with your Confluence knowledge.

In the first one to two weeks, nara works alongside Jira Service Management: it takes requests, resolves them and documents every case in Jira. nara syncs your Confluence knowledge and respects the existing permissions. It drafts new articles itself and writes them back to Confluence after your review. When you want to switch, we move your ticket history, knowledge articles and assets. The full switch takes about six weeks.

Your Jira tickets show what nara takes on.

With read access to your Jira history, we show within one to two weeks which requests nara handles from day one and how much time your team gets back. In customer projects, we have already analyzed more than 40 million tickets.

Product view: example ticket analysis with around 35,000 tickets. For the five most frequent topics it shows whether nara resolves them itself, with approval or only after another connection.

What Jira Service Management charges extra for

With Jira Service Management, features depend on the plan: change management and advanced incident and problem management start at the Premium plan. [4] From 3 Dec 2026, Atlassian bills usage of Rovo credits, automation and Assets objects beyond the allowances included in each plan, for most meters. [11] Each Rovo credit above the allowance then costs $0.01; this extra usage is on by default, and admins can turn it off or cap it. [14] Single sign-on through your identity provider requires Atlassian Guard, at $4.35 (Guard Standard) or $8.55 (Guard Premium) per user per month; the Enterprise plan includes Guard Standard. [4][12]

nara: ITSM at €2.50 per employee per month (€1.75 from the 1,001st employee) with every module and unlimited IT agents, plus a nara plan from €1,500 per month, plus migration at a fixed price per quote. All prices exclude VAT. As long as your old ITSM contract runs, you pay nothing for the ITSM, for up to 12 months.
