nara or Atlassian Rovo
AI that resolves IT requests down to the laptop. Alongside Jira or in its place.
Rovo comes with your Atlassian plan. It searches, summarizes, drafts answers and works on service requests in Jira Service Management. nara takes incidents and service requests in Teams and by phone and resolves them across all your systems and right on the laptop, with AI processing exclusively in the EU. You start alongside Jira and move to nara's complete ITSM whenever you want.
The difference in brief
Atlassian Rovo is the AI in Jira, Confluence and Jira Service Management, included in Standard and above. [1] Its Request Resolver carries out resolution plans on its own or under supervision, according to the documentation only for service requests. [2] By default, data for the AI leaves your site and also goes to OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, which according to Atlassian store nothing and don't train on your data. [5] On 6 Oct 2026, Atlassian announced local AI processing in the EU, which it says is rolling out. [6]
nara is an AI-native ITSM. The AI resolves incidents and service requests across all your systems and on the device, and runs exclusively in the EU in every plan. nara works alongside Jira within one to two weeks and, if you want, replaces it in about six weeks.

Where nara and Rovo overlap
Both work with your knowledge, talk to employees in Teams and take action in other systems. The difference is how far they take a request.
Answers from your knowledge
Actions with approval
Request Resolver pauses before irreversible or uncertain steps until a team member steps in. [2] With nara, you decide which steps need approval, and every action is recorded in the ticket.
Workflows from a description
In Rovo Studio, you describe a problem, and Rovo suggests agents, automations and apps and builds them; Atlassian introduced the apps in beta in May 2026. [10] You also set up nara in your own words: nara builds the workflow with forms, approvals, SLAs and permissions, tests it in a simulated run and goes live only after your approval.
Where nara leads
nara fixes incidents too, right on the laptop.
A sales rep reports in Teams that Excel crashes when he opens a file. Through nara Edge, nara checks the Office version and add-ins on the laptop, disables the faulty add-in, repairs the installation and closes the ticket with its findings. According to the documentation, Request Resolver works only on service requests. [2] For other work items, Rovo suggests resolution steps to your team. [17]
Employees simply call.
nara takes calls in Teams and on a normal phone number, recognizes the caller and unlocks the account or resets the password during the call. That helps everyone who isn't at a computer right now, in the warehouse, on the shop floor or on the road. Atlassian offers Voice AI in Customer Service Management for customer service, as an open beta with phone numbers in the US, the UK, Australia and Switzerland. [9]
An onboarding that runs all the way through.
For a new colleague, nara creates the account in Entra ID, assigns license and groups, grants her rights in the ERP system, orders the laptop and installs the software. nara collects the manager's approval in Teams. This works for systems with and without an API, in HR and procurement as well. Request Resolver has no autonomous mode for onboarding, and every action outside Jira Service Management needs a connected tool. [2]
The AI runs in the EU, from day one.
With nara, AI processing takes place exclusively in the EU in every plan, and your data is not used for training. With Rovo, data leaves your site by default, and dynamic routing picks the model, including OpenAI, Anthropic or Google. [5] On 6 Oct 2026, Atlassian announced local AI processing in the EU, which it says is rolling out; the announcements name no plans, products or date. [6]
Alongside Jira Service Management from the first week.
nara takes requests, resolves them and records every step in Jira. Service projects, request types and SLAs stay as they are, and nara uses your Confluence knowledge from day one. Your team can keep using Rovo for search and chat in Jira and Confluence. If you want to switch, nara brings the complete ITSM, every module in one price, and takes over ticket history, knowledge articles and assets in about six weeks.

What Rovo costs
Rovo is included in Standard and above and billed in credits: in the Service Collection, each license adds 250, 700 or 1,500 credits per month to a shared pool, depending on the plan, and a resolution plan costs 100. [1][2][13] From 3 Dec 2026, extra usage costs $0.01 per credit; it is on by default and can be switched off. [13] The license costs $21.50 (Standard) or $55.28 (Premium) per agent per month, for 75 agents billed monthly. [14]
nara: ITSM at €2.50 per employee per month (€1.75 from the 1,001st) with every module and unlimited IT agents, plus a nara plan from €1,500 per month and migration at a fixed price per quote. All prices exclude VAT. As long as your old ITSM contract runs, for up to 12 months, you pay nothing for the ITSM.
Your tickets show how much nara takes on.
With read access to Jira Service Management, we show within one to two weeks which requests nara handles from day one, incidents included, and how much time your team gets back. It draws on more than 40 million tickets we have analyzed in customer projects.

Questions about nara and Atlassian Rovo
Rovo helps your team search, summarize and draft in Jira and Confluence and works on service requests through Request Resolver. Each resolution plan uses 100 credits from your allowance. [2] nara takes the requests itself: incidents and service requests, in Teams, by phone and right on the device, until the ticket is closed with its findings. Both run side by side.
